Competition Format

SASMO is open to all Primary 1 to 6, Secondary 1 to 4 and JC½ students (International School students in Years 1-12). The time allotted for the competition is 90 minutes. Each level has a differentiated paper and consists of 25 questions in 2 sections:

Qualification for Competitions and Awards

The top 40% of winners are invited to compete in SIMOC (July 2023 in Singapore) and SINGAPORE MATH GLOBAL FINALS (both online and paper-based in February 2024). The top 20% of winners are invited to compete in STEAM AHEAD 2023 in Indonesia in December 2023.

· Solving word problems using the model method (or any other non-algebraic methods)
· Solving irregular problems (including number patterns, division tests, spatial visualization, logic problems, and simple cryptorhythms)


GRADE 5-6 (Primary 5-6)

GRADE 7 (Secondary 1)

GRADE 8 (Secondary 2)

· Arithmetic and Algebra

· Pythagorean theorem

· Solving irregular problems (including number patterns, division tests, spatial visualization, logic problems, and cryptorhythms)


GRADE 9-12, Orta 3-4, JC 1-2
