Over the course of three months, students participated in an intensive mathematics program designed and conducted by Juneyd Ganbarov. The curriculum focused on strengthening analytical thinking, competition-level problem-solving, and logical reasoning, following a structured progression from foundational concepts to advanced Olympiad topics.
The program adopted a highly interactive format, combining theoretical explanations, guided practice, and real examination simulations. Each session was designed to elevate students’ mathematical fluency and prepare them for international Olympiads and IB-level assessments.
Topics Covered During the Program
1️. Ratio and Proportion
Students developed a strong understanding of proportional reasoning, including complex ratios, multi-step comparison problems, and real-world applications essential for advanced mathematical modeling.
2️. Mathematical Operations
Focus on accuracy and fluency in fundamental operations, emphasizing algebraic manipulation, number properties, and strategic simplification techniques used in competitive problem-solving.
3️. Sequences and Series
Exploration of arithmetic and geometric progressions, recursive patterns, summation techniques, and Olympiad-style sequence problems requiring higher-order reasoning.
4️. Logarithms
Introduction to logarithmic rules, equation solving, growth models, and their application in both IB curriculum and international competition problems.
5️. Permutations, Combinations & Binomial Probability
Deep dive into combinatory, arrangement theory, counting principles, binomial expansion, and probability models frequently appearing in international Olympiads.
6. IB Practice Questions
Students practiced real IB-level mathematics questions, focusing on exam strategy, structured solutions, and advanced problem-solving methods aligned with the IB curriculum standards.
7️. AMO Practice Questions
Training included selected tasks from the American Mathematics Olympiad (AMO), helping students build accuracy, speed, and familiarity with international competition formats.
Final Assessment — AMO-Format Examination
At
the end of the three-month program, students took a full examination modeled
after the American Mathematics Olympiad (AMO).
This final assessment measured:
- conceptual understanding,
- logical reasoning,
- problem-solving efficiency,
- and readiness for international competitions.
The exam allowed participants to apply all skills acquired during the course and provided a benchmark aligned with global Olympiad standards.
Outcome
Through this comprehensive curriculum, students significantly improved their mastery of Olympiad mathematics, strengthened their analytical thinking, and gained valuable experience through real exam simulation. The program established a strong mathematical foundation and prepared participants for future academic and competition success.
